A downloadable game for Windows

You're a resilient ball, enduring countless slobbery adventures at the park. But today's the day you've had enough! It's time to make your grand escape. Craftily taunt the playful canines, skillfully weave and dodge their relentless pursuit, and lead them to shatter the boundaries of the park.

Can you master the art of evasion using the WASD keys and finally taste freedom?

I want to start this entry by saying thank you to everyone who played Canine Chaos Chase, my fifth game in my self-taught journey in game development. I've always enjoyed sharing my thoughts and experiences through these 'journal entries', so bear with me as I use this as a bit of a blog.

I have mixed feelings about this game. I can't help but feel it may have been the lowest effort I've put into any of my projects so far. Looking back, I believe there was so much more potential, and had I invested a few more hours over the weekend, it could have been even better. This sense of disappointment lingers.

However, on the flip side, I am genuinely proud of what I've achieved. Canine Chaos Chase looks and plays quite well. I've honed my skills and learned a lot in the process. Comparing it to my first game, the progress is undeniable. I find satisfaction in how far I've come. Yet, I can't shake the feeling that this project might have been a missed opportunity, a chance to create something even better that I know I'm capable of.

During September and October, I took a break from active development to continue my education by delving deeper into the Creative Core course on Unity. These courses have been fun and enlightening, offering a wealth of new and interesting ideas. However, when it comes to implementing them, I feel like my brain is a sieve, struggling to retain the knowledge I've gained. It's frustrating to realize that many of the cool techniques and concepts I've learned somehow slipped my mind during the making of this game. But I'm hopeful that with practice, I can overcome this memory lapse.

One aspect that's become evident to me is my increasing reliance on AI, both for the art and programming aspects of my games. I've noticed that I'm losing some of my programming skills by not using them as frequently. It's a concern that I'll need to address. Perhaps in future projects, I can find a balance between utilizing AI and actively engaging in the coding process.

In the end, Canine Chaos Chase represents a step in my game development journey. It might not be perfect, but it's a testament to how much I've grown as a game developer. There's always room for improvement, and I'm excited to see where my self-taught road in game development takes me next.
