Developer Blog: I'm excited to share my thoughts on creating Granny’s World Clean-Up! I genuinely believe this idea is both charming and visually appealing, and I'm thrilled with how it turned out.
Initially, I was feeling pretty burnt out after participating in the SA Game Jam and completing my course. I wasn’t sure if I was ready to tackle another jam, especially since I had envisioned a more complex gardening game that seemed overwhelming. I was on the verge of dropping out when I stumbled across a video about a curved world, which sparked an idea and reignited my motivation to create something new.
Over the course of three days, I dedicated about two hours each day to developing this game. Given my limited time and energy, I think I did well. It’s similar to my previous game, Canine Chaos Run, where I also felt like it could have been better with more motivation, but sometimes you just have to put something out there.I think the game looks good but there are really areas like the river that look ugly and wish I could have spent more time sorting that out. Also it looks more like a park than a garden, but couldn't get the garden look well.
In any case, I'm glad I pushed through and finished the game. I'm really proud of the idea behind it. I hope you enjoy helping Granny keep her garden tidy!
